Special considera- tion should be taken on energy usage, which can potentially be reduced by apply- ing more technology to the black soldier fly systems – such as solar panels.
The project
It will investigate the environmental and bi- osecurity constraints of using this method as a waste treatment system in an effort to reduce the amount of waste produced by industries, reduce the generation of obnox- ious odours and, in parallel, produce high quality soil improvers and fertilisers.
